The parish is situated on a range of low hills and valleys at the western end of the Vale of Taunton Deane in the south west corner of Somerset. From the elevated position of St Peter's Church in Langford Budville you have views of a large portion of West Somerset. To the north you can see the Brendon Hills, the northeast the Quantocks and 8 miles to the east the county town of Taunton sits in the heart of the Vale of Taunton Deane. To the South East Wellington is less than 2 miles away.
A quietly historic area
We live in an interesting and, in the way of many lovely Somerset parishes, a quietly historic area. We have two ancient churches, a pub that has been serving both farm worker and lord of the manor since the 17th century and a thriving primary school that was built in 1851. Langford Heathfield, which borders Langford Budville to the east, is ancient common land and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. But everything here isn’t old: after over 30 years of fundraising, our wonderful Jubilee Hall was opened by HRH Prince Edward in 2013.
We’re a thriving parish so find out what we’re up to by looking at Round About, our monthly community magazine, and browsing the Activities and Parish Council pages.
We hope you enjoy your visit and if you have any comments, drop us a line below or if you wish to advertise in the magazine please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
