Langford Budville, Runnington and the hamlets
The Parish of Langford Budville is situated on a range of low hills at the western end of the Vale of Taunton Deane in the south west corner of Somerset and includes the villages of Langford Budville and Runnington, the hamlets of Chipley, Gundenham, Bindon and Wellisford, and many scattered farms and cottages in between.
From the elevated position of Langford Budville you have views of a large portion of West Somerset. To the north you can see the Brendon Hills, the northeast the Quantocks and 8 miles to the east the county town of Taunton sitting in the heart of the Vale of Taunton Deane. The view to the south is the town of Wellington sitting at the foot of the Blackdown Hills on top of which is the Wellington Monument built to commemorate the Duke of Wellington who took his name from the town of Wellington. To the west of the village you can see the rolling hills of Devon.
The parish boundary, in common with parish boundaries throughout the country, is convoluted in the extreme as can be seen below. Round About, the community magazine for the parish, is currently delivered to 240 households which hopefully reaches all the homes in this lovely parish.
